What is Vybe Drama?

We are a playful, creative space where young people aged 8-14 can explore their imagination and express themselves through movement, storytelling and improvisation. At Vybe Drama, we focus on the experience of play and connection, not the end product. No pressure, no auditions, just a welcoming environment for everyone to find their own unique creative voice.

Founder Story

The vision

Vybe Drama was created by Janeel, a drama practitioner with a passion for creating spaces where young people can be themselves, have fun and discover what they’re capable of.Janeel has worked professionally in theatre and youth arts, including with Birmingham Rep’s Young Rep, where he worked with young people and directed shows, as well as with Open Theatre, delivering creative drama work in SEN settings.These experiences have shown him just how powerful drama can be when young people are given the freedom to play, experiment, communicate and make their own choices. Some of the most meaningful moments aren't necessarily about putting on a finished show — they're about seeing a young person find their voice, connect with others or take the lead in something they've created.That inspired Vybe: a creative space that takes the freedom and imagination of drama without the pressure and structure often associated with traditional theatre schools.Vybe is about giving young people the space to play, create, lead and express themselves — in their own way.

Session Details

Time & Location

-Every Saturday-10:30am-12:00pm-St Albans Community Centre (Rear entrance), Smethwick, B67 7NL (Rear entrance)

First session FREE!

Then equivalent of £10 per session (booked as a block of 4 fixed session dates at £40).Siblings discounted price: £20 for 4 sessions.
